Hijo de la Luna
"Hijo de la Luna" (Spanish: "Son of the Moon") is a song initially performed by the Spanish band Mecano. It appeared on their 1986 album, Entre el cielo y el suelo. From December 28, 1998 to January 11, 1999 a cover version by Loona topped the German charts, around the same time it reached number two in the Swiss single chart.
The lyrics depict a "gypsy" woman, who prays an entire night to the Moon goddess for a husband. In the end, the moon says that she shall have her man, but in return she wants her first-born child to be turned over to her.
Mecano
When the child is born, it turns out that its skin color does not resemble the father's, but instead is white "like the back of an ermine" (the white fur of a stoat originating from Armenia), and has grey eyes. The gypsy man automatically assumes that his wife committed adultery, and kills her with a knife. Afterwards, he carries the infant onto the top of a mountain, where he abandons it.
Martin Vedej
The child is taken up into the sky by the moon, and on nights when the moon is full, it is because the child is happy, and when the child cries, the moon will wane to make him a cradle.
Arther Hanlon
The chorus throughout the song says that the moon wants to be a mother, yet cannot find a lover who will make her a woman (and therefore, impregnate her), and questions her as to what she would do with a child of flesh.

Against All Odds (1984 / 2000 / 2004)
Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds (2004)
Lyrics:
How can I just let you walk away
Just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking
Every breath with you oohhhh
You're the only one
Who really knew me at all
How can you just walk away from me
When all I can do is watch you leave
'Cause we've shared the laughter and the pain
And even shared the tears
You're the only one
Who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
'Cause there's just an empty space
There's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
So take a look at me now
'Cause there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me, is against the odds
And that's what I've got to faceeeee
I wish I could just make you turn around
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you
So many reasons why
You're the only one
Who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
'Cause there's just an empty space
There's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
So Take a look at me now
Cause there's just an empty space
But to wait for you is
All I can do
And that's what I've got to face.
Take a good look at me now
'Cause l'll still be standing (standing here)
And you coming back to me is against all odds
That's the chance I've got to take
(chance I got to take, got to takeeee)
Yeahhhhh
Take A look at me now
(Take A Look at me nowwwww)
Mariah Carey - Against All Odds (2000)
The song was the main theme of the movie Against All Odds. Written and performed by Phil Collins, it was first appeared on the original soundtrack. Later, the song had became the first of Collins' seven American number one songs, and received an Academy Award nomination for the Best Song of the year.

"Fly Me to the Moon" is a pop standard song written by Bart Howard in 1954.
When it was introduced to the cabaret circuit by Felicia Sanders, it was titled as "In Other Words" originally. However, the song soon became popularly known as "Fly Me to the Moon" from its first line. In the meantime, the song was firstly recorded by Kaye Ballard in the same year.
Later (in 1954), Johnny Mathis recorded the song, and this was the first time the title "Fly Me to the Moon" appeared on a record label.
Strangely, it took a few years for the publishers to change the title from "In Other Words" to "Fly Me to the Moon" officially.

Close To You
Carpenters
"(They Long to Be) Close to You" is a popular song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
It was first recorded by Richard Chamberlain and released as a single in 1963 as "They Long to Be Close to You," without parentheses. However, it was the single's flip side, "Blue Guitar," that became a hit.
Although Richard Chamberlain recorded the first version, the tune was also recorded as a demo by Dionne Warwick in 1963. Later, it had been re-recorded with Bacharach's new arrangement for her album "Make Way for Dionne Warwick" in 1964. Also, it was released as the B-side of her single "Here I Am" in 1965.
In 1968, Bacharach released his own version.
Having become a hit since 1970, the version by Carpenters is the most well-known.
